Whatever your reasons for wanting to engage with therapy, you have taken a first and important step on your journey towards betterment. Using a humanistic, client-centered approach that is rooted in mindfulness, we will identify areas for healing and growth to be able to integrate meaningful change in ways that feel safe, supportive and nurturing.

Choose

  • In working with children, I use a play-based approach to nurture communication and connection. I draw from my experience as a school counselor to understand a child’s school-based experience, while also considering other social and environmental factors that influence growth and development. Applying knowledge of the developmental phases unique to childhood, I support each child in building a strong sense of self, both individually and socially.

  • In working with teens, I use a humanistic and client-centered approach that involves a variety of theoretical orientations including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, IFS and DBT. My goal is to understand the unique complexities that teens face in today’s world, and how those challenges manifest in day to day life. Supporting teens as they seek their own solutions and strengthen their unique identities is at the heart of our time together.

  • In working with adults, I draw from a variety of theoretical orientations including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, IFS and DBT. Together we will identify areas for healing and growth to be able to integrate change in ways that feel safe, supportive and nurturing.

  • In working with couples, I use a systemic and relational approach to identify the dynamics at play that are disrupting cohesion or not serving the greater relationship. Drawing from several orientations including Attachment Theory, the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we will work together to bring an awareness to the relational patterns that are causing conflict, so that you can respond to problems more intentionally and effectively. Together we will cultivate the communication and support systems necessary to foster a deeply trusting, long-term partnership

  • In working with families, I use a systemic and relational approach to identify the dynamics at play that are affecting not only the individuals in the family, but also the family as a greater system. We will identify any roles that have emerged within the family unit to understand how certain patterns serve to reinforce or challenge those roles. The goal is to create an awareness of how each member contributes to the functioning of the greater system and to work together to find ways to interact more cohesively and effectively.

Experience

I began my career in 2002 as an educator, working as an elementary school teacher serving diverse learners and their families. During the pandemic, I went back to school to pursue my dream of becoming a counselor. I have been serving as an elementary school counselor ever since. While continuing in the school setting, I also began to practice privately. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I blend my school background with clinical therapy to meet clients where they are and help them thrive. I believe in the importance of exploring the social, environmental and systemic conditions that map onto our individual experiences, influencing how we relate to ourselves and others. Throughout our time together, my goal is to foster the therapeutic conditions for you to feel safe and connected while nurturing both personal and relational growth.
